The NCFCA tournament is building momentum as the Texas State Championship Qualifier will take place later this week. This event provides home-schooled students with an excellent opportunity to express their communication talents as well as challenges them to develop their rhetorical skills. For more information on the event as well as a request for judges in this week's competition, please read the following article by Amber Bell. As a guest blogger, Amber is a home-schooled student and my younger sister. Enjoy her creative article!

A crowd of thirty hushed as a sixteen-year-old girl rose to the front of the room.
“Are the judges ready?” She asked the three judges, sitting in front of her.
“Yes,” they answered.
Consequently, the young girl began her ten minute speech…
The NCFCA (National Christian Forensics and Communications Association), affiliated with many speech and debate clubs in the USA, enriches home educated teenagers in speaking and debating skills. With tournaments every month, and Nationals in June, the NCFCA has impacted many children with the tools to proclaim their faith, speak “effectively and confidently,” and even conquer the fear of speaking in front of a crowd.
However, for students to obtain this knowledge and speaking skills, there must be enough judges to judge them at tournaments. On March 24-26th, the Texas State Championship Qualifier is being held at Great Hills Baptist Church. In short, this event needs judges. If you are interested in judging, and helping teens acquire skills that will last with them forever, please go to ncfcajudges.com, click on Region IV, choose the Texas Capital Qualifier event, and register to judge a time slot of your chose. Thank you so much!
