What is the Meaning of Easter?

Resurrection Sunday marks a powerful day when Jesus died for the sins of the world and made a way for all those who accept Him as Savior and Lord to come into relationship with the Father. Jesus is the example of the greatest friend--"Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends" (John 15:13).

Jesus was beaten, bruised, rejected, abused, and disfigured for you and me because of His great love: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). The way, truth, and life, Jesus is the only way to the Father, that by Him we may have life forever in Heaven and abundantly on earth (John 14:6).

If you do not have a relationship with God, give Jesus your heart and life today. As it says in Romans 10: 9-10: ". . .that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

As we celebrate this wonderful day with church services, good food, Easter egg hunts, fellowship with friends and family, let us reflect on and give thanks to God for the freedom from our sins that He has made available through Christ as well as the relationship we can have with God our Father--our Creator, Friend, Lord, and Sustaining Strength.
